Govt. Polytechnic Paonta Sahib was established in 2013 at Dhaulakuan near Paonta Sahib, Distt. – Sirmaur , Himachal Pradesh. Previously, the building of this polytechnic was under construction, therefore, this polytechnic was running at its mentor institute i.e. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Govt. Polytechnic Ambota, Distt. – Una (H.P.). After the completion of building, this polytechnic was shifted to its actual location in July, 2015. The polytechnic provides three years diploma courses in Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with intake capacity of 60 students in each discipline.
All courses are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB), Dharamshala.
